Biography
Evangelia Athanasiou is an architect (AUTh) who continued her studies at the University of York (MA) and the University of Edinburgh (PhD). Her doctoral thesis dealt with the environmental sustainability of cities. She has taught at the Hellenic Open University, the School of Architecture of the University of Thessaly and the AUTh School of Spatial Planning and Development. Since 2009 she has been an Assistant Professor at the AUTh School of Architecture, where she teaches urban planning and urban design with an emphasis on the environmental dimensions of design. She has published in international and Greek scientific journals and conferences, focusing on a critical view of the concept of urban sustainability and of the relationship between nature and the city.
