He holds a PhD from the School of Architecture of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (PhD Doktorgrad, KTH), in critical studies of architectural design. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the AUTh School of Architecture with a Research Committee Excellence Scholarship, researching architecture in the post-digital and neo-analogue environment.

From 2001 to 2005 he lived, studied and taught at schools of architecture in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Sweden). In 2006 he returned to Greece for his military service. In October 2014 he returned to Greece once again to take up the post of Assistant Professor at the AUTh School of Architecture.

His research includes participation in AUTh projects on the architecture of public space and in pan-European research networks. Examples include previous research projects on the narrative function of architecture, its emerging complex relationship with neuroscience and psychology, waterfront regeneration, and projects for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games aimed at upgrading existing settlements.

He was selected as a member of the international Board of Experts for the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2014, 2016 and 2018, responsible for nominations from the Nordic countries as well as Greece and Cyprus.
